Breaking November

Last month I got the chance to work on the cover for JPCC's monthly printed news. The theme given is generosity. All I can think of is that song verse saying,"... good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over...". Mine is not showing something pressed down though, I was pressing on the 'running over' part :). Lavishly. The money coins and the hearts? I thought they can bring out more color to it. Money represent something tangible we can give to others. The hearts is love requires giving. Like someone's saying: You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.

Cover work

Currently working on a cover for children's section. This is not that 'children-y'.. :( aw, aw, aw.. then I changed the style and choice of colors. I love animals.. (ok, just the cute ones) and so I decided to add some in the frame.

Dance, Music, Rainbow

Done Part One

These are the three of ten watercolors I made in the past two months. The theme was about first time being a dad & what to do about it. Why it took so long? Hmm.. so many people involved ;) There's gonna be another batch for this kind (I believe they still want watercolor media) When? Hopefully all done at least in July.

Their Final Decision

After 10 finished art of the modern look and the curly line look made on illustrator, they changed their mind... *sigh! But after those stressful hours working with water color, since I haven't done them (with having a nice results) before, I came up with these. So I thought, there's a good side of it: I can practice my water color skill (and still make a sell :) ).

Big Heads Done

Here is my attempt result for the big-heads style ( I posted the sketch before) about pregnant moms. This one is about a husband helping his wife prepare their coming baby..cute!

My client decided not to give that style a go, instead, they prefer the style below. Oh well, clients are clients, but always prepare a back up plan. Mine is to put them up on istockphoto.com hee-hee..

Hip Hop Gang

What happen when young moms cardio-dancing together on their spare time? Quite funky to me. They want to make Bratz-looking characters representing themselves on the book they're making for this Christmas. The book is a gift for their instructor I heard.

Reading Letter

Read your letter anywhere, at the coffee shop, your office (not done, I just can't wait to publish it :)) latter then i found out that i don't really like it. Finding a style requires lots and lots of work.

On i-stock again

I am back to uploading vector images to www.istockphoto.com , and trying to do it on a regular basis. This is one of the pieces I uploaded lately.

Bye Bye Office

3 Days to go until my period in the office is over. I got a mixed feeling about it. I'm happy because I don't have to face the traffic jam every day and night anymore, sad because I have to say good bye to my new friends. What I did so far for them was visualizing their ideas clearer through my drawings for them to present to their clients. Here are some examples: *I post the tiger already*

Happy Chinese New Year!!

It's the year of Tiger :) yihaaa.. this year is my first year giving out hong bao (red pocket with money inside, given from older generation of married couple to children, and the single ones, and the grandparents) Happy tiger year, everyone! May we grow stronger, and enjoying life in a more positive way..

Praise the Lord

Here's your ticket!! I gotta gotta learn how to differentiate drawing styles for different age range. Example here, I'm not sure if it suitable for kids age 6-12. 12 is near to teenage, huh? or is the range too far that it confused me - but honestly, I gotta have extra awareness on that issue. Anyways.. this is for my friend's sunday school kids choir concert (I did their christmas invitation last year, too). I'm looking forward to see it!! They have Amani Utupe, and some other cool songs!!

I love making colorful posters - the thing is that I have to make it work. Think of what's the main focus again, and trying not to make people puzzled instead, below is my first attempt. I feel like the colors on the children at the back (on top of the hill, i mean) is distracting us from seeing the poster title where I want the main focus be..*awh.. internet colors degrading the saturation :(*

Elephants Welcome You to Thailand

Here are some preview on what I am working on at the beginning of this year: Elephants for Thailand tourism rep. They're gonna be on T shirts. I am still thinking of adding some background on the mom and baby elephant pic, so it might look more "tourism" look..

Here are some of my favorites.. *I'm getting hungry already* Iphiau cah or soup, and the sweet and sour pork ribs. Yumm.. The kuah (soup) and the cah (stir fry with a bit of soup ) taste almost the same though, but if you need more of the watery part, you know which one to have. You can get these yummies at Siauw A Tjiap at Pesanggrahan and Taman Ratu if you're in Jakarta. If you're not, too bad..
